Pug Corgi Mix

The pug corgi mix is a designer dog breed created by crossing two distinct breeds – the pug and either the Pembroke Welsh Corgi or the Cardigan Welsh Corgi.

The pugs have an ancient history tracing back to ancient China where they were prized companion dogs of the Chinese emperors.

On the other hand, the corgis, specially the Pembroke and Cardigan Welsh varieties, originated at Wales where they were used as skilled herding dogs.

The aim of creating Porgi was to blend the intelligent and herding instincts of the corgi with the affectionate, playful and loyal nature of the pug.

The pug mixed with corgi, or Porgis, are becoming increasingly popular due to their adorable temperament and adaptability to live in various environments.

However mixed dogs like the corgi mixed with pug may be recognized by organizations that specialize in hybrid or designer dogs.

But it is to more important to find a reputable breeder who focuses on health and well being of the pup, over pedigree papers or registration.
